yay heres my teacup candle!
the story is that i bought the most delicious scented candle from peter alexander and spent like $50 on it, but after a few uses it went all crazy and i accidentally broke off the wick. so anyway i didnt want to waste the delicious wax so i googled how to make a candle haha. people requested that i share how i made it so here we go :)
okay so!
- i bought candle wick from riot art shop and 3 teacups and saucers from vinnies which cost me a few dollars. (i had lots of a wax so i made three teacup candles out of it)
- i melted all of my wax really slowly in an old shallow dish over the stove top.
- as that was melting i cut a length of wick, about 10 cm. (like a third longer than the height of the teacup)
- i cleaned the inside of the teacups to perfection!
- when the wax had melted, i dipped the wick into the liquid, (with one end having about 1cm dry) and waited for it to cool a little. i then stretched out the wick, and the melted wax set completely and made the wick stiff and straight.
- i poured the melted wax into each teacup, about two thirds full, and waited for it to cool a little.
- when the edges of the candle were starting to set, i slowly dipped the wick into the centre of the teacup until it touched the bottom. (its kind of like pushing a stick into a frozen lake hahah)
- then i let it set over night, and, voila! :)
Christmas gifts? I think so.

I just found this saved in my drafts and have to smile bc my life couldn’t be any better. I’m finally in London for three months and it’s like my puzzle found it’s missing piece. I have a gay best friend. Guys look at me. They all dress wonderfully and are polite and have accents. No one pressures me to do anything or be anything. It’s almost like the world has stopped.
I finally get to be me!
